This series of fine pendant lights represented for us the chance to convey the value of the italian craftsmanship excellence, together with the employment of carefully selected materials such as locally sourced durmast, satin brass, Carrara marble and extra-thin Limoges porcelain. The project aimed in first place to preserve all the materials’ essence and those inimitable characteristics belonging to local know-how’s and craft traditions such as crystal handmade grinding, and the sublime woodworking of cabinetmakers. Furthermore our research attempted to investigate the concept of transparency, the leitmotiv of the entire project. As a result, through fine tunings and an innovative design approach, Light became not only the main feature of these products but more importantly, a powerful tool, able to uncover unexpected material qualities and so, turning thin layers of porcelain and marble into radiant and poetic surfaces
