Robert Mansfield – Motorola HC1

The HC1’s combination of micro display, noise cancelling microphones and ARM based mobile computing allows for hands free access to enterprise software solutions in extreme environments. The HC1 uses a custom voice controlled UI developed by Kopin and its partners as well as 6-axis head tracking to navigate documents and schematics in the field.

As part of the PRD, the HC1 had to be worn for extended periods with or without hard-hat and safety glasses; and the display had to be usable by people with a right or left dominant eye, but catered for by a single SKU that could be shared amongst a varied work-force (and without the display being detached).
